Egos At The Door played a free, secret show at some secret place, 23.08.2011. Props to Jeffrey!
ForgetToForgive – the last show
Sadly, ForgetToForgive split up a while ago. They played a farewell show for Ash, one for Tom, and they played a last show. This was in Belgium and I couldn’t be there, but luckily they played one more show in their hometown, Heerlen at Booch! 2011. Before ForgetToForgive, Horse The Band was playing. Many people I am following were tweeting about them, so I thought it would be a good idea to check them out.
Thanks for many great shows!
Strung Out
Longing For Tomorrow posted that they would be playing at the Musikbunker in Aachen with Strung Out and Not To Scale. I vaguely remembered Strung Out from some songs I listened to years ago, so I thought it would be nice to go there.
It really surprised me, a band such as Strung Out I haven’t seen live yet.
There was another girl taking pictures, I don’t know who she is, but we sure do have a good timing flashing at the same moment!
Akustik Abend
At a birthday on friday I met Damian, the drummer of Longing For Tomorrow. He told me about an acoustic show they were going to play, and since I had missed them the last two times they were around I was excited to go.
It was an all acoustic night at KuBa Jülich with Ten Tons Of Glory, Tobi BausA, Jan Davidsson and Longing For Tomorrow. It was a pleasure to be there. I took my PEN and I enjoyed shooting the PEN, but unfortunately my battery went down after a few shots.

Olympus PEN E-PL1
I have thought about buying an Olympus PEN for quite a while and I finally found the guts to do it.
Although I love my 5D, sometimes I find it too bulky and heavy to carry around just to have some camera around. I wanted a camera I can put in my bag all the time. So far, I am really impressed. The image quality is superb and it is very small. The autofocus is a bit slow and it does not have dedicated ISO buttons etc, but hey, if I need that I can always pick my 5D.
Along with the camera I picked up the Panasonic 20mm 1.7 lens, the Olympus VF-1 Viewfinder and a spare battery, which should be good for just about everything. I still have an Metz AF-48 flash from when I had an Olympus DSLR, and I can use it on the PEN, although it looks stupid. I chose the pancake because it has a bright aperture and is very small, with a zoom the camera wouldn’t be so easy to fit into my pocket.
So far, I already fell in love with the possibility to take pictures 6×6 in black and white, but after some shots at ISO 3200, I noted that there is a huge difference in the grain when comparing the JPGs to the RAW files, so I will probably be shooting RAW & JPG then.
Pictures to follow.
Sony A35 Test
The test is not yet finished.
For Zoom.nl, I had the opportunity to test the brandnew Sony A35.
